If we have learned anything from pioneering intergenerational outreach programs for nearly a decade: you’re as young as you feel. We are so proud to be working with senior citizens in our community to help keep them as young as they feel.
Spring Follies
A no-pressure, all-fun, class encourages participants to develop their unique skills and share what makes them happy during this throwback to the “Follies” of the early 20th century. Senior students are encouraged to showcase their talents which include anything from singing or joke telling, to magic, painting or poetry. This new class culminates in a shared event for friends and family.

Broadway by the Year
From “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning,” until “Some Enchanted Evening,” we’ve grown up with the music of Richard Rodgers, Oscar Hammerstein, Cole Porter and The Gershwins. “Broadway By The Year” is a 10-week series covering some of the biggest titles in musical theatre from the 1920s to today.
From sing-alongs of beloved songs, to clips from our favorite movie musicals, “Broadway By The Year” is a chance for our seniors to take a stroll down memory lane, learn about this uniquely American artform and be moved by the power of the music that scores our lives. Now that’s definitely “one of our favorite things.”
Yes, And…Improv
When was the last time you made someone laugh? That’s the goal of “Yes, And…Improv,” a 10-week course for all ability levels.
This interactive class covers the basics of improvisation and puts an emphasis on fun improvisational games, theatre warm-ups and storytelling.
Sharing the stories that shaped their lives is what seniors do best, and this course is a chance to learn more about friends new and old. Nothing heals like laughter.
…fine, it is all fun and games. But the fun and games are not just for laughs. Music and storytelling is a safe and impactful way to gain a meaningful arts experience for those with limited mobility.
Therapeutic effects of music and connection last long after class is done. Now on our 10th year, we’re proud to continue theatre FREE OF CHARGE to an underrepresented community. Programs like this are made possible by the generous support of people who understand the importance of life-long learning
