It’s A Wonderful Life (Grades 7-12)

It’s a Wonderful Life tells the story of George Bailey, a man who learns how important his life is to others. When George feels like a failure and wants to give up, his guardian angel, Clarence, shows him what the world would be like if he had never been born. George sees how many lives he touched and how much good he did, realizing he’s a truly wonderful person. It’s A Wonderful Life teaches us that even when things are tough, everyone’s life has meaning and value.

Students in grades 7 – 12 may audition for roles in It’s A Wonderful Life. Please review the rehearsal dates and times below. All students must be available for all rehearsals.

This program is audition based, and a video submission will be required. Please note the following requirements before submitting an audition.

  • Each student must submit a video using one of the monologue sides below. The video should be submitted with registration. Each student should choose whichever one they are most comfortable with. Video auditions/registrations will be accepted through September 8. No submissions will be considered after September 8.
  • After the cast list is announced, students will have 24 hours to accept their role and submit payment for the production.
  • Students may be replaced after missing one (1) rehearsal. Missing more than 15 minutes of a rehearsal will be considered an absence. Students must attend ALL tech rehearsals – no absence from a technical rehearsal will be accepted.

About Fall Programming

Each season at Open Arts Alliance has a uniquely tailored structure and pedagogy to develop students’ individual skills and deepen their learning experience.

With our back-to-school, class-based model, students build core skills in voice work, movement and blocking techniques—skills they’ll rely on as they step confidently into Mainstage auditions in the spring. Each class naturally leads to its own fully staged production, giving every student the chance to shine.
